Ind-Pak Love Story: Another Pak Woman Arrives in India
Anju who from India’s Attari border went to Pakistan to meet her friend and then married him has returned to India. Like Seema Haider and Anju there is one more cross-border love story.

She returned to India last month. After Anju returned to India via the Attari border, she was questioned by Punjab Police in Amritsar and then allowed to fly to Delhi. When Anju landed in Delhi, she said, "I don't want to say anything right now." She said that she would take her children to Pakistan after divorcing her Indian husband, Arvind. However, Anju's whereabouts remain unknown after landing in Delhi. She did not reach Bhiwadi, Rajasthan or meet her children. Security has been beefed up at the society where Anju stays. All vehicles and strangers were allowed entry after being thoroughly checked. A team from the Intelligence Bureau had also questioned Anju's children -- a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. The children said they will not meet her. Her husband Arvind said he was unaware about her return and he was not interested in talking about anything related to her". According to Arvind, he and Anju have not been divorced yet. It takes three to five months for a divorce to take place. Anju has received a no-objection certificate for only one month to come to India. According to legal experts, she can get custody of her children only after divorce and not before that. Meanwhile Anju’s Pakistani husband Nasrulla said, "If Anju wants to invite me to India, I can come. If she wants to come back to Pakistan, she can do that also. I can do anything for her.” He denied any fight between them.
Meanwhile, there is another similar cross-border love story. A Pakistani woman on Tuesday crossed over to India from the Wagah-Attari border to marry her fiance residing in Kolkata where she was welcomed by her fiance Sameer Khan and some members of his family to the beats of 'dhol'. She has been identified as Javeria Khanum. Sameer Khan, "This started in May 2018. I had come home from Germany where I was studying. I saw her photo on my mother's phone and expressed my interest. I told my mother that I want to get married to Javeria." They then got in touch. Javeria said, "I have been granted a 45-day visa. I am very happy to be here. Just on arrival, I am already getting so much love here. In the first week of January the marriage will be solemnized.” She added, "It is a happy ending and a happy beginning. Everyone back home was very happy. I can't believe I got the visa after five years.” Earlier, the visa was rejected twice and in between there was the Covid pandemic. They were thankful to the Indian Government for the visa. Khan said his friends from his time in Germany - from Africa, Spain, the United States and other countries - are likely to attend his wedding. Sameer and Javeria will get married in January next year, after which she will apply for a long-term visa.
