India Exports Vaccines to Various Countries

Countries around the world have started vaccinating people against the COVID-19 vaccine. The Indian Government has received requests, both formal and informal, for the COVID vaccines from 60 countries so far. India is working on plans to increase their vaccine manufacture, to supply to these nations in the coming months. India sent 5 lakh doses of the Covishield vaccine to Sri Lanka. The consignments were sent to Sri Lanka as a "gift" from India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa during a virtual summit in September last year that India will provide all support to Sri Lanka during the pandemic. India has also sent 1 lakh doses of COVID vaccines to Oman. India has been helping many countries in different ways under grant assistance. This time till now India has sent consignments of coronavirus vaccines under grant assistance to Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Mauritius, and Seychelles.
Last week, India sold two million doses each to Brazil and Morocco. Now India will also supply vaccines to Egypt, Algeria, Kuwait, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Barbados. India had earlier supplied hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), Remdesivir - this medicine has been used to help treat COVID. Paracetamol tablets, diagnostic kits, ventilators, masks, gloves and other medical supplies to a large number of countries to help them deal with the pandemic.
