India Forces UN to Ban Jaish
India along with France has submitted a fresh proposal to the United Nations Security Council to put the Jaish-e-Muhammad on a ban list.
Masood Azhar is the founder and leader of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed which is active mainly in the PoK.
In 1994 the Indian government had arrested Masood Azhar. In 1999, Terrorist group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuA) and Pakistan’s ISI worked together and hijacked an Indian aircraft in Nepal. India had to free Masood Azhar and two other terrorists for the return of Indian civilians in the aircraft.
After Azhar’s his release HuA terror group was rechristened as the JeM. He was the mastermind behind the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament. After the attack the Indian government put pressure on Pakistan to arrest Azhar. The Pakistan government arrested him but released him soon. He then planned the 2016 attack on the IAF’s air base in Pathankot and the attack on the CRPF jawans in Pulwama.
India supported by France prepared a proposal to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) explaining these points. India wants to the UNSC to ban JeM. The JeM main aim is to train “Fidayeen” or suicide bombers to attack various countries. Which is why they are a threat to countries all over the world.
