India Women to Play Test Cricket After Six Years
Recently India defeated Australia and England in a test series. However Indian Women’s team has not played a single test match since the last 6 years. BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Monday 8th March tweeted and announced that the Indian women's cricket team is set to play a one-off Test match against England’s Women’s team when India tour England later this year.
Women's Tests aren't common in international cricket these days. The last six Test matches since August 2015 have been played between England and Australia. The Indian women’s cricket team played their last Test against South Africa in November 2014 in Mysore. Before that Indian Women team played a test against the England Women team in August 2014. India had won this match as well.
The Indian women's cricket team has played a total of 36 Tests so far. The tally includes five wins and six defeats, while 25 of them have resulted in a draw.
