Indian-Chinese Army’s Violent Face-off in Arunachal Pradesh
The Indian and Chinese troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control in the Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh, injuring several troops from both sides.
Army face off between India & China at the LAC is not a new story. You all know about the Galwan valley clash. But things become scary when troops from both the end carrying weapons and guns get into a violent fist fight and stone pelting. Now, in a recent update according to sources, the Chinese troops clashed with the Indian soldiers along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh on 9th December 2022. The clash began when more than 300 Chinese soldiers attempted to get access to the top of the 17,000-ft peak which is now covered with snow. There, they wanted to uproot an Indian post. But they were confronted by the Indian Army jawans and the attempt was successfully foiled by the very active Indian army. During the face-off, Chinese troops who entered LAC were armed with spiked clubs and sticks. This led to soldiers from both sides being injured in the clash.
At least six Indian soldiers were injured and were airlifted to Guwahati for treatment. However, according to sources, the injuries on the Chinese side could be higher than India, as the Indian army was well prepared and gave a befitting response. However, both sides immediately disengaged from the area. As a follow up to the incident, the Commander in the area held a Flag Meeting with his Chinese counterpart to discuss the issue in accordance with protocol to restore peace and tranquillity in the area. Notably, the Indian troops had a similar confrontation with the Chinese soldiers in the same region in October 2021 when around 200 Chinese soldiers came close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) . The Indian side retaliated and shooed them away.
Reacting to the latest reports of clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Tawang, the Congress demanded stern action from the Centre. In a tweet posted, the congress demanded strict action to be taken against China so that they don’t dare to cause any further harm to our soldiers. Meanwhile, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned why the government did not inform the Parliament about the clash in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that the government has kept the country in the dark for days.
