The Ministry of Home Affairs issued fresh guidelines for Unlock 3.0 to relax the lockdown restrictions in all areas except containment zones. The government also said the new guidelines issued today are based on feedback received by authorities and chief ministers of states and Union Territories.The guidelines will come into effect from 1 August, 2020.
Under the new guidelines, the government announced that night curfews imposed in the country will now be removed.Independence Day functions will be allowed with social distancing and by following other health protocols, such as wearing masks etc. Yoga institutes and gyms will be allowed to open from August 5, 2020, while maintaining social distancing norms. There shall be no restrictions of intrastate or interstate of people or goods across the country and no additional pass or e-permit will be required. However, schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed till 31 August.
Metro services, cinema halls and swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, theatres, auditoriums and other social gathering places will remain closed. Social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large gatherings are still not permitted. However, the government mentioned that dates of these services will be "decided separately after assessing the situation." Lockdown in containment zones will remain imposed till 31 August, 2020. These containment zones will be notified on the websites of respective district collectors of the states and UTs. Activities taking place in these zones will be strictly monitored by the authorities.
