Indian Soldier to Run 4,300 km in 50 Days
Indian soldier Naik Velu P is on a mission to enter his name in the Guinness Book of World Records by running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, a distance of about 4,300 km, under 50 days.
Indian soldier Naik Velu P was born at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu and loves to run. He has won many marathons and has represented India in many International athletic championships as well. In June 2020, Velu became the first Indian ultra-runner to complete 1,600 km in just 17 days. He will soon turn 30 years old on 21st April. But he wants to do something memorable for his 30th birthday. Velu wants to enter his name in the Guinness Book of World Records. He wants to do this by becoming the first person to run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He aims to cover a distance of about 4,300 km, under 50 days. Velo started his run from 92 base hospital at Srinagar on Friday 2nd April. There was a group of supporters who ran with him for the initial five km carrying the national flag and boosting his morale. Velu is running at a speed of 10-km per hour. He would be running 70-100 km per day, crossing major towns, cities and states.
