Indian Jawans Carry Pregnant Woman in Heavy Snow

Despite heavy snowfall in the forward post of Jammu and Kashmir the Indian Army personnel continue to perform their duty in the hostile weather conditions.

Continuous snowfall in Kashmir led to the cancellation of flights at the Srinagar airport and affected vehicular movement at the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The visibility was as low as 500m at the airport. The weather department on Friday had predicted that the intensity of snowfall and rainfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to increase. However, despite all this, soldiers posted in Jammu & Kashmir continue to be strong. A video was shared by PRO Udhampur, Ministry of Defence on  Twitter Friday and it went viral on Twitter. The video shows a soldier standing knee-deep in the snow while holding a gun even as a snowstorm rages around him. Twitter users were left in awe by the hard conditions the soldier had to endure while being on duty.

Another video was shared by the Indian Army's Chinar Corps on Twitter. They had posted a video of soldiers walking on thick snow in a forest as they carried the woman on a stretcher to a hospital. The Tweet said they had got a call from Ramnagri for urgent medical assistance for a pregnant lady. In heavy snowfall, the evacuation team carried the lady on a stretcher and brought her to the district hospital in Shopian. Family blessed with a baby boy. People are very inspired by the videos of our soldiers working so hard in the freezing cold. There is another news. In Pakistan, there is a hill station named Murree in Rawalpindi district. Murree was witnessing a tourist influx and thousands of cars had entered the hill station. The Pakistan government had reportedly warned tourists to avoid visiting the hill station as it could snow a lot but people ignored this. Later when it started snowing too much the government closed the roads to the hill station but there were around 1000 cars on the road to the hill station. There was a major traffic jam and it was snowing heavily.

Many cars got stuck in the snow. Doors and windows froze and 22 people died in their cars out of these 10 were children. The Pakistan Army was called to help and even locals were helping to rescue people from their cars.
