Jasmin Bhasin Suffers Severe Eye Injury after Wearing Lenses
Famous TV serial actress Jasmin Bhasin has suffered severe eye damage because of wearing contact lenses. It has caused her a lot of pain and led to temporary lose her eyesight.
Famous Indian TV serial actress Jasmin Bhasin experienced severe eye damage after wearing contact lenses for an event in Delhi. The incident caused her immense pain and temporary loss of eyesight.
In an interview, Jasmin shared, “I was in Delhi for an event on 17th July 2024, for which I was getting ready. I don’t know what was wrong with my lenses, but after I wore them, my eyes started hurting, and the pain gradually got worse. I wanted to rush to a doctor, but since it was a work commitment, I decided to attend the event and then go to the doctor. I wore sunglasses at the event, and the team helped me manage things because, after a point, I couldn’t see anything."
A video of Jasmin in a neon green dress with black sunglasses being guided by a girl on the ramp has gone viral on social media.
After the event, Jasmin rushed to an eye specialist late at night. The doctor informed her that she had badly damaged the corneas in both her eyes. The cornea is the clear outer layer at the front of the eye, protecting the eyes and helping to focus light.
The doctor covered Jasmin’s eyes with thick bandages to avoid any light entering and gave her some medicines for temporary relief. The next day, Jasmin returned to Mumbai to continue her treatment.
Jasmin is in a lot of pain, unable to see or sleep properly. She mentioned that doctors expect her to recover fully within 4-5 days but she must take special care of her eyes during and after recovery.
On 21st July 2024, Jasmin shared a picture of herself wearing black shades with the caption, "Better now and recovering. Thank you for your love and blessings” followed by an evil eye emoji and heart emoji on her Instagram story.
On the same day, Jasmin’s rumored boyfriend, Indian TV actor Aly Goni, shared a special post cheering her. Aly posted an unseen picture of Jasmin and him with the caption “Strongest.” Jasmin wore a green suit with a black bindi, and Aly wore a white kurta set. Aly had his arms around Jasmin’s waist, and both were smiling widely.
Their fans and followers dropped heartfelt messages in the comment section, wishing Jasmin a speedy and healthy recovery.
Cornea damage can be a scary and serious health issue. Jasmin's condition raises questions about the safety of wearing contact lenses. According to an article by Harvard Medical School, while wearing contact lenses is generally safe, it can rarely cause serious problems such as:
- Eye irritation
- Eye pain
- Swelling around the eye
- Blurry vision
- Sensitivity to light
- Conjunctivitis ("pink eye")
- Eye ulcers
- Cornea infections
