Karnataka Doctor Found Dead, 8-Year-Old Son Seriously Injured: Wife Arrested
A doctor was found dead and his 8-year-old son critically injured inside their Karnataka home, with police questioning his wife as they investigate the mysterious case.
A shocking incident has emerged from Dharwad, Karnataka, where 45-year-old anaesthetist Dr. Kiran Honannavar was found dead inside his apartment on 15 July 2026. His 8-year-old son was also discovered with multiple stab injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
According to police, family members and friends were unable to contact Dr. Kiran on 14 July. They said his wife, Dr. Priyanka Kattanahalli, an ophthalmologist, answered his phone and gave different explanations about his whereabouts.
The next day, worried relatives visited the apartment and made the disturbing discovery. Dr. Kiran was found lying in a pool of blood, while the injured child was found in another room. Relatives immediately alerted the police.
Investigators said only the three family members were inside the apartment at the time, and there were no signs of forced entry.
Police have detained Dr. Priyanka for questioning, stating that she appeared to be in shock and gave inconsistent statements.
Several claims, including marital disputes and mental health concerns, are circulating on social media. However, police have not confirmed any motive and say all angles are being investigated.
They are also awaiting the detailed post-mortem report to determine what happened inside the apartment.
