Now when people around the world have finally started talking about justice for Kashmiri Pandits and their return to their homes in Kashmir, a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead by the terrorists in a government office building. Rahul Bhat, a 35 year old Kashmiri Pandit was posted in the Tehsil office in Chadoora, J&K under a special employment package for Kashmiri Pandits. He was working there for the last 8 years. Bhat lived in a colony with other Kashmiri Pandits along with his parents,in Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir. He has a wife and a 5 year old daughter. According to reports on 12th of May, Thursday. Terrorists entered the government office where Rahul Bhatt worked and fired multiple rounds of bullets at him after which he was rushed to the SMHS Hospital in Srinagar where he later died because of bis bullet injuries.
However according to the officials, a search operation is being held and both the killers have been identified as the terrorists of the famous terrorist organization “Lashkar-e-taiba”. Also soon after the killing, Other Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus started to protest against the targeted killing being held against them in the Kashmir Valley. This is not the first attack on Kashmiri Pandits. Since October 2022, migrant workers and kashmiri Pandits are being attacked and killed in Kashmir. When we start talking about things returning back to normal again in Kashmir, incidents like these again pull us back. You may think that what happened in the Kashmir Files movie happened long time back, but sadly all this is still happening in kashmir.
