Kochi: Man Enters Women's Toilet in Lulu Mall Wearing Burqa
A 23-year-old IT professional on 16th August 2023 entered a women's washroom in the popular Lulu Mall in Kochi, Kerala wearing a burqa.
A 23-year-old IT professional on 16th August 2023 entered a women's washroom in the popular Lulu Mall in Kochi, Kerala wearing a burqa. He then put his phone in a small cardboard box, put a hole in it for the camera to record visuals and stuck it to the door of the washroom. After that, the suspect came out from there and stood in front of the main door of the washroom. The security staff saw him standing there for a long time and got suspicious of his behaviour. They informed the mall management who then caught him also informed the police who quickly reached the spot and questioned the accused. Subsequently, the burqa and the mobile phone of the accused were seized and he was taken into custody.
The accused was identified as Abhimanyu and is a robotics engineering graduate. He was booked for the offenses under sections 354 (C) and 419 of the IPC and Section 66 E of the Information Technology Act. He was produced before a local court which remanded the accused to 14 days in judicial custody. The officer said police were investigating whether the accused has carried out such acts in the past anywhere else.
