Liz Truss Becomes Next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
The election results are out in which Liz Truss has defeated Rishi Sunak in the Prime Ministers election in the UK.

However, now the game has been changed. On Monday 5th of September. The election results are out in which Liz Truss has defeated Rishi Sunak. Liz Truss, a Conservative Party leader who was also earlier the UK’s Foreign Minister, was elected as the next UK Prime Minister Liz Truss will succeed the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as the new British Prime Minister. Talking about her political career, after a few unsuccessful attempts to contest elections in the 2000s, she won a seat in the House of Commons, same like India Lok Sabha - in 2010. In 2012, Truss became the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Education and Childcare, and later held portfolios related to environment, food and rural affairs.
Truss, who is 47 years old, had promised that she would act quickly to tackle Britain’s cost-of-living crisis. She said that within a week she will come up with a plan to tackle rising energy bills and securing future fuel supplies. Truss has said she will appoint a strong cabinet to ensure the growth & development of England. After her victory, congratulating the PM-elect, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “Confident that under your leadership, the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will be further strengthened. Wish you the very best for your new role and responsibilities.”
