Maharashtra Lockdown Will Continue After 30th June
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced that the lockdown will be extended after 30th June 2020.
As per the Central Government’s ‘Unlock 1.0’ plan, only containment zones across the country remain under lockdown. This only up to 30th June and further guidelines will be announced. However, some states in India have decided to continue with the lockdown. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that “The lockdown will not be lifted after 30th June as the risk of infection is not over yet. We are extending our relaxation step by step. If the rules are relaxed then there will be a spike in cases.” Maharashtra is currently in the fourth phase of ‘Mission Begin Again”.
As a part of this mission, for the first time in 3 months, salons, barbershop and beauty parlours were opened. Staff in such places are required to wear masks, gloves, aprons, etc and use disposable products. Only the services. All of this will be done with prior appointments. Till 27th June, Maharashtra has more than 1.50 lakh cases of COVID-19. Till now 7,273 people have died and 84,613 have recovered. In Mumbai alone, there have been 73,747 cases and 4,282 deaths.Similarly, full lockdown will be enforced every Sunday in Karnataka from July 5. In Jharkhand lockdown has been extended till 31st July.
