Maharashtra Woman Drives Off Cliff While Filming Reel

A girl in Maharashtra’s Sambhaji Nagar fell off in the valley after she mistakenly pressed the accelerator which led to her accident.

Shweta Deepak Surwase was visiting the Dattatreya temple in Sulibhanjan, Aurangabad along with a 25-year-old friend Suraj Sanjau Mule on Monday 17 June 2024.  The duo were among many tourists who had chosen to drive to the Sulibhanjan Hills to enjoy the spectacular view. Shweta Survase attempted to drive while her friend Suraj Mule recorded a video. Mule was recording the video because Shweta was an inexperienced driver and they were all enjoying themselves. They wanted to make an Instagram reel.
While the Toyota Etios car was in reverse gear, the car was going backwards. By mistake she pressed the accelerator, and the car went back in speed. Mule could be heard screaming “clutch" repeatedly and running towards the car in panic. However, he was unable to slow down the car and the vehicle fell into a 300-feet gorge. An eyewitness saw all this. Rescuers took an hour to reach her and the vehicle. She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. In the video, the woman, dressed in a yellow T-shirt, black pants, and sunglasses, can be seen making hand gestures and performing to Sunil Shetty’s popular song "Aankhon Mein Base Ho Tum". At one point, she pulls out a rose from the bike’s handlebar and displays it to the camera, all while performing the hands-free stunt near the Hadapsar area. It has triggered outrage on social media.
