Man gives wife triple talaq after his wife files a complaint against him.
A 24 year old woman named Sumayya Banu, on 22 November filed a dowry harassment complaint against her husband and in-laws.
She has been living with her parents since the birth of her baby girl. Since her baby was born, her in-laws have been harassing her. She lodged a complaint against her in-laws because, her father-in-law asked her to divorce her husband. When her husband came to know that she had lodged a complaint , he gave her triple talaq over a Whatsapp phone call on 28 November 2018. Sumayya recorded their conversation and filed another complaint against him.
The Law to make triple talaq illegal is still pending in the Parliament. The Lok Sabha will discuss the topic on 27 December 2018
