According to the University of Edinburgh, on average a human tongue is around 8.5 centimetres for males and 7.9 centimetres for females. Currently, the Guinness World Record of the longest tongue (male) is held by Nick Stoeberl, from California in the US.
Nick's tongue was measured to be 10.1 centimetres in 2012. There was a 20-year-old man named K Praveen from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. On 26 February, his tongue was measured and it was 10.8-centimetre-long. In men he has the longest tongue in India and his name has been entered in the India Book of Records.
He had also entered the Asia Book of Records last year for touching his nose with his tongue 219 times in a minute. He cannot only touch his nose with his tongue but nearly touch his eye with it. He is practising hard to touch his eyelids with his tongue. He said that he can use his tongue like a brush to draw and write letters. Through practice, he hides his tongue in his nasal cavity and calls the prank the "invisible tongue".
Praveen's lengthy tongue has never caused him discomfort. Praveen has not been able to approach the Guinness World Records due to a lack of financial assistance. He is collecting funds to exhibit his achievements globally.
