A Special Court has found MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar Guilty of Raping a minor girl in Unnao in 2017.
A Special Court has found MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar Guilty of Raping a minor girl in Unnao in 2017. Another man named Shashi Singh had also raped the girl. Even he, has been found guilty by the court.
This is the same girl who was brutally burnt alive by 5 men a few days when she refused to withdraw her case. The girl and her family was always harassed and threatened by Sengar and his associates.Sengar’s lawyers kept trying to say that this case was not true and he never raped her. Sengar used all his political power and connections to win the case.
The girl explained to the court all the details of the rape and the court has said that her entire story is true and Sengar is the rapist.The court will announce their decision about his punishment. He faces a minimum punishment of 10 years in jail to maximum of life imprisonment. The Court said that because of various taboos in rural areas about rape and restrictions over women, this case has taken so long. But finally the MLA has been found guilty.
