Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani is India's richest person and he is known for treating his employees very well. Mukesh Ambani has gifted one of his employees a Rs 1500 crore home in Mumbai.
The name of the employee is Manoj Modi and he is widely considered as the 'right hand' of Mukesh Ambani. Mukesh Ambani, has not gifted an apartment or a duplex, but a 22 storeyed building. Each floor of the
building is spread over 8,000 square feet and the total area of the building is 1.7 lakh square feet. The sprawling property is located on Nepean Sea Road in Mumbai.
Manoj Modi is the batch mate of Mukesh Ambani and the two have studied Chemical Engineering together at Mumbai University. Manoj Modi had joined Reliance in early 1980s when Mukesh Ambani’s father Dhirubhai Ambani was leading the company. According to reports, Manoj Modi has been friends with Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani for decades now. Manoj Modi currently serves as a Director at Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio. Manoj Modi is now working closely with Mukesh Ambani’s children Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani. Manoj Modi is the man behind Akash Ambani-led Jio Platforms famous deal with social media giant Facebook. He has spearheaded many important deals.
Manoj Modi is a very private person, and he does not have a presence on any social media such as Instagram, Twitter or Linkedin. The house gifted by Mukesh Ambani has been named as Vrindavan. Manoj Modi has a small family consisting of his wife and two daughters. He has not yet shifted into the new house. The house is currently being designed with some of the furniture being brought from Italy. To add a more personal touch to the gifted house, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani themself have selected some special pieces for the house.
The first 7 floors will be for parking. 8th, 9th and 10th floor- are reserved for entertainment and will have a Gym, Spa, 50 seater theatre, formal meeting areas and more. The 11th, 12th and 13th floors of the house are for Manoj Modi’s younger daughter, Bhakti Modi and her husband Tejas Goenka. She works as a designer in Reliance retail.
The 16th, 17th and 18th floors are for Modi's elder daughter Khushboo Poddar, her husband Rajiv Poddar, her father-in-law Arvind and mother-in-law Vijayalakshmi Poddar. The Poddar family, own Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) The 19th to 21st floors have been converted into a penthouse for Manoj Modi and his wife. It will staff around 175 people, including a chef, butler, manager, security guards, house help, etc. Mukesh Ambani has gifted this expensive luxury home to Manoj Modi for supporting the growth of Reliance Group over the years.
