Mumbai Starts 24x7 Vaccination Centre
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that Private vaccination centres in Mumbai of the coronavirus vaccine are allowed to operate 24×7.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHWF) informed that more than 2.43 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the states and Union Territories so far. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that Private vaccination centres in Mumbai of the coronavirus vaccine are allowed to operate 24×7. BMC said that with the current vaccination timing of 8-12 hour shift, nearly 35,000-40,000 people are getting vaccinated on a daily basis. After approval for 24×7 vaccination at private centers, BMC aims for around 1 lakh vaccination every day.
On 9th March In Rajasthan, the government said that the state will run out of Covid-19 vaccine doses soon if the Centre doesn't urgently send more supplies. However hours later the Union Health Ministry said that there is no shortage of vaccines in the state at present.
In another news, while discussions around logistics are still underway, it is expected that 4.5 crore doses of the Covishield - being manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India - will be sent to Pakistan from India. According to officials, Pakistan would receive the first batch of vials by mid-March while the rest are expected to reach by June.
