After months, a picture of smiling, bearded Omar surfaced on social media last week shocking many of the citizens.
In August, the BJP government abrogated Article 370 and converted J&K in Union Territory. The government felt that politicians could incite violence. This is why the BJP put them on house arrest. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his father Farooq Abdullah, Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and various other leaders who opposed the BJP were put under house arrest.After months, a picture of smiling, bearded Omar surfaced on social media last week.
Many people said that it is very wrong that he has been detained for so long by the government.People on Twitter started questioning the government about how long the leaders will be detained and when will they release them.The BJP on a Twitter post Mocked Omar. But they immediately deleted the post.
The BJP Tamil Nadu Twitter account said that, it is very sad to see you like this while all your corrupt friends are enjoying outside.They shared a link of an Amazon Gift card and asked him to accept their sincere gift.
The BJP immediately deleted the Tweet.Omar’s sister Safia said her younger brother has promised to not shave his beard until he is released.She also said Omar spent his time running nearly 8 km daily and reading books that his family gave him.
