Operation Mahadev: Pahalgam Attack Terrorist Killed

Indian Army killed Lashkar mastermind and two other terrorists in Operation Mahadev, taking revenge for the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.

On 22nd April 2025, terrorists killed 26 innocent people, including tourists, in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attackers asked questions about religion before opening fire. A group supported by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) took responsibility for this horrifying act.

After the attack, India responded strongly by launching Operation Sindoor and targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK. This led to a short war between India and Pakistan, followed by a ceasefire. ISH News has already covered that in earlier videos.

Now, in a major development, Indian security forces finally took revenge for the Pahalgam attack. On 28th July 2025, the Army carried out Operation Mahadev and killed three terrorists, including the main mastermind Suleiman Shah, also known as Hashim Musa.

Suleiman Shah was a former commando in Pakistan’s Special Service Group (SSG). Later, he joined Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) to carry out attacks in India.

The terrorists were hiding in Dachigam forests, near Mahadev Peak in Srinagar. Indian forces had been tracking their movements for over two weeks, using electronic surveillance, satellite phone signals, and help from local informants.

A Chinese Huawei satellite phone, active during the Pahalgam attack, gave the biggest clue. It was spotted again in the Dachigam area. After careful tracking, a drone was used to find the terrorists hiding under a tree in a trench.

The Rashtriya Rifles and Para Special Forces reached the Mahadev hill and quickly located the terrorists. The terrorists were caught napping inside a tent, and all three were shot in the first burst of fire. One tried to run but was eliminated immediately.

The encounter lasted just 30–45 minutes. Later, a cleansing operation was done to search the nearby forest and ensure no more terrorists were hiding.

The terrorists were foreign nationals and carried heavy guns and ammunition. The mastermind, Hashim Musa, had a ?20 lakh bounty on his head. The other two terrorists are believed to be Yasir and Hamza (also called Harris), but this is yet to be officially confirmed.

Photos from the encounter site show a heavily armed hideout deep inside the jungle. The Army believes they were planning another big terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
