Netizens around the world were startled by pictures of some strange-looking dogs with blue fur in Russia.
Last week, pictures of stray dogs went viral after they were spotted in Russia. People around the world were startled by pictures of some strange-looking dogs with blue fur. The fascinating pictures were taken in Dzerzhinsk, which is located in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. According to reports, the photographs were taken by some local residents near an abandoned factory that closed down six years ago due to financial problems. The factory had been producing Acrylic Glass & Prussian Dye . It is suspected that the dogs rolled around in powdered blue dye at the plant. The plant's manager Andrey Mislevets said, “Homeless dogs are running around. Perhaps in one of the buildings, they found some chemical. I heard that a few years ago dogs were seen whose fur had unnatural colours.” Now, a significant development has taken place in this mysterious story. The dogs have reportedly been changing colour. These dogs have now turned pink.
Now, photos of the dogs with pink fur roaming in the snow-covered area have gone viral on social media.
Experts were keen to determine the cause of their strange colouring. The dogs were brought to a vets' clinic in Nizhny Novgorod, where blood and faeces samples were taken. Traces of Prussian blue dye were found in their fur.Russian media report that the dogs appear healthy and are eating well. But there are still concerns that a toxic chemical, such as copper sulphate, might have caused the colour change.
