Pakistan Includes J&K, Ladakh & Junagadh in its Map
In yet another provocation to India, Pakistan has approved a new map that inlcudes the Indian territory of J&K.
In yet another provocation to India, on 4th August Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a central cabinet meeting and approved a new political map of Pakistan which included the Jammu and Kashmir region on the map for the first time ever.The map also included territories of Ladakh, the city of Junagadh in Gujarat and Sir Creek. The new official map shows J&K as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The Pakistan Government confirmed that the new map will be used in the curriculum across the country. Imran Khan said that the new map is supported by all political parties and the people of Pakistan. He also said that this map is against the Indian government's decision to convert Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory. The Pakistan Prime Minister added that the Kashmir dispute can be resolved only by the UN Security Council.
He added, "We believe the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through political means not military." Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi congratulated the entire nation and Imran Khan for taking the unprecedented step. He said, "For the first time in history our government has openly presented its stance to the world.” Qureshi said the plebiscite should be held in the Kashmir region under the watch of the UN to decide the future of disputed territory. He added, "We believe that the entire Kashmir region is disputed and it needs a solution." He also said that it has been declared that Siachen is part of Pakistan and we challenge India's position on it.
