PM Modi Accepts to Remove 3 Farm Laws
PM Modi announced that the three controversial farm laws will be withdrawn.
You all know that farmers in Punjab are protesting against the Central Government’s 3 farm laws. There have been dangerous protests and many farmers were also arrested. However the Central Government was firm that the 3 laws would remain but they had agreed to make changes to the laws. The farmers said they would not accept it and wanted all the laws to be removed. Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have been camping outside Delhi since November 2020, demanding that the laws be withdrawn. The BJP has faced massive anger in northern states.
They can not afford to have people angry as something it cannot afford as in 2022 there are elections. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise announcement saying : “We had created the laws as we felt that farmers would benefit a lot but we were not able to convince the farmers. Today, I want to tell the country that we have decided to repeal the three farm laws. In the Parliament session starting at the end of this month, we will complete the process of repealing the three laws. Whatever I did was for farmers. Now what I am doing is for the country. I want everyone to be happy.”
