PM Modi Appreciates Film Kashmir Files

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, his wife and actress Pallavi Joshi, and the film’s producer Abhishek met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The latest film The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has become a hit. The film narrates the painful and heart wrenching stories of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their homes and live like refugees in their own country. The cast of the film features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi & Darshan Kumar among others. The film has received positive reviews from viewers.The film was also appreciated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yes, the Prime Minister called on the filmmakers to congratulate them for daring to make a film on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus / Pandits. During the visit, producer Abhishek Agarwal, Director Vivek Agnihotri were accompanied by his wife, actor Pallavi Joshi as well. Taking to his Twitter handle, Abhishek Agrawal, the producer of the film, shared some pictures from his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Not even occasionally, a Prime Minister appreciates a film but this seems to be a great achievement for the team. On the other hand, 'The Kashmir Files' which received unanimous positive reports is also making solid business at the box office. Before the release, the film landed in lots of controversies and it was when the filmmaker openly said that they weren't allowed to promote the film on  The Kapil Sharma Show. Vivek took to his Twitter and wrote, "They refused to call us on there because we don't have commercial star #FACT".

 

Responding to this, Kapil Sharma had tweeted, “What is the use of explaining to the rest who have accepted it as truth? Just a suggestion as an experienced social media user- never believe in one sided story in today’s social media world. Thanks.” Several states have announced that the film will be tax-free. Till now, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana t, Madhya Pradesh governments have decided to make the film tax-free in theatres. This means that there will be no state GST tax on the tickets. Delighted with the kind of response from everyone, producer Abhishek Agarwal says he's willing to make some thought-provoking and content-oriented films under his banner in the future.
