Poonam Sinha Joins Samajwadi Party
Shatrugan Sinha’s wife recently joined the Samajwadi Party. She was welcomed into the party at Lucknow, by Dimple Yadav, the wife of Chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Shatrughan Sinha recently left the BJP, in order to join the Congress. His wife, Poonam Sinha has joined the Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party. She joined the party in the party headquarters in Lucknow, in the presence of Dimple Yadav, the wife of the head Akhilesh Yadav. Sources from the Samajwadi Party have confirmed that Poonams membership will officially be announced on Wednesday, after which she can file her nomination papers. As of now, she is only a member of the party. Shatrughan Sinha will contest against the Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar and his wife Poonam will contest against Home Minister Rajnath Singh, for the Lucknow seat.
The Lucknow seat is considered prestigious, which used to be represented by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It has more than 4 lakh Brahmins and 2 lakh Thakurs who have supported the BJP for the last 20 years. Now different political parties have begun appointing their own candidates for the Lucknow seat. After Poonam Sinha was announced as their candidate by the Samajwadi Party, the Congress has selected Acharya Pramod Krishnam, the head priest of Kalki Dham ashram in Sambhal, Lucknow.
Shivpal Yadav, is the uncle of Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party.
Shivpal Yadav of the Pragatsheel Samajwadi Party- Lohia, further got involved. He appointinted Farhat Hassan Mian for the seat.
