At least 5 persons died and 4 went missing in rain-related incidents amid heavy rainfall across Maharashtra in 24 hours on 13th July, 2022. As many as 1,828 people were evacuated from 10 rain-hit villages across Gadchiroli, Nagpur and Palghar districts.
Mumbai's lifeline, the local trains onWestern Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) and Harbour line (HR) were running late on account of waterlogging on the railway tracks and periphery of several stations. The Mumbai morning peak road traffic was badly hit as waterlogging was reported in some parts of the city and suburbs and traffic to and from adjoining Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and Raigad districts. Mumbai and Palghar district were issued orange and red alert respectively by the Indian Meteorological Department
Amid heavy rainfall, the Maharashtra government announced schools in Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar to remain closed on 14th and 15th July 2022. Mumbai schools have been asked to decide based on the situation. Mumbai University, too, has cancelled exams scheduled.

Rain has created havoc in many districts of Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana as well. Schools have been shut down in many districts of Gujarat and Telangana as well. The overflowing of the Tungabhadra river has caused several historical monuments in Hampi, Karnataka to go under floodwaters.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of the west coast of India will continue to receive heavy rainfall for the next five days.
On 8th July 2022, there was a cloudburst and heavy rain near theAmarnath shrine in Jammu Kashmir. The cloudburst claimed 16 lives. The Amarnath yatra was suspended for 2 days and resumed from 11th JUly 2022.
