Rajasthan Bans Sale of Firecrackers
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Tweeted and said that his administration has decided to ban the sale and bursting of firecrackers to protect the health of coronavirus patients and the public.
So far, 1,88,048 have gotten infected in Rajasthan and 1,853 have died. Much like other areas of North India, Rajasthan is suffering due to deteriorating air quality. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Tweeted and said that his government has decided to ban the sale and bursting of firecrackers to protect the health of coronavirus patients and the public. This decision came just days before Diwali. The chief minister said that poisonous smoke emanating from fireworks was a health hazard for Covid-19 patients and those with heart ailments. This is why people should avoid fireworks during Diwali. Gehlot also announced that his administration will come up with new legislation that will make masks mandatory. “Rajasthan will be the first state in the country to make masks compulsory to prevent the coronavirus...masks are currently the only vaccine against Covid-19,” he said. Gehlot took the decision at a high-level meeting, where the guidelines for Unlock 6 were also discussed.
He said developed countries like Germany, UK, France, Italy, and Spain, are seeing the second wave of coronavirus and have returned to lockdowns. "To avoid such a situation here, we also have to be careful," he wrote. He also ordered to monitor vehicular pollution.
