Register on Co-WIN App for COVID Vaccine
Union Health Ministry has developed a mobile application named Co-WIN which will help the authorities in real-time monitoring of COVID-19 vaccine delivery.
The vaccination drive is likely to begin soon in India with three vaccine-makers - Pfizer, Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech - having applied for emergency use authorization of their vaccine candidates. The health ministry has come up with details of how the entire vaccination program will take place. At a press conference on Tuesday 8th December, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “The Union Health Ministry has developed Co-WIN co-WIN digital platform which will also have a free downloadable mobile application. It will play an essential role in managing the entire vaccination process and help to record vaccine data.
Through co-Win administrators can manage vaccination sessions. General people can download co-WIN and register to receive the vaccine as well. Authorities can use co-WIN to go through details of people and also update the status of vaccination. After one gets vaccinated, they will receive SMS, and also it will generate QR(matrix barcode). This will also be managed by co-WIN. Co-WIN will also keep a report of how many vaccine sessions have been done, how many people have attended the sessions, and how many people have dropped out.
