Russia: Third World War May Involve Nuclear Bombs

As Russia's invasion of Ukraine entered the seventh day on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that if there is a third World War, it would be destructive and involve nuclear we

According to Ukraine’s military, more than 2000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and hundreds of structures including transport facilities, hospitals, kindergartens and homes have been destroyed. Ukraine also claimed over 5840 Russian troops have died so far in the war. Russia's defense ministry says its troops have now captured the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson. If this news is true then it would make it the largest city in Ukraine to be captured by Russian forces so far. In another shocking news, Belarus is the northern neighbor of Ukraine and a friend of Russia. The Belarusian army has directly joined the war with Russia and has started attacking Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that if a third World War were to take place, it would involve nuclear weapons and be destructive. Russia has one of the strongest military weapons in the world. If nuclear weapons are used and there is a world war, it could lead to huge destruction and can be very dangerous. You may remember the bomb that was thrown on Hiroshima & Nagasaki in Japan. That was the first nuclear bomb ever to be used in history. Lakhs of people died and there was major destruction. This was in 1945, 77 years back. Now technology has advanced so much. So you can imagine how dangerous such bombs would be. Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has called for protests across Russia and beyond. He said that “Putin is not Russia.” He said, "We - Russia - want to be a nation of peace. Alas, few people would call us that now," But Russians should "at least not become a nation of frightened silent people" who "pretend not to notice the war". Meanwhile, Russia has said that it is ready to hold a second round of talks with Ukraine. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said that Russia must stop bombing cities in Ukraine before offering to hold talks.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted today that India has evacuated 1,377 citizens from Ukraine in the past 24 hours. However still many students are stuck in Ukraine and are having a hard time leaving the country. In an extremely powerful and compassionate gesture, a 17-year-old student named Neha from Haryana who was studying to become a doctor, has decided to stay put in Ukraine even though she got an opportunity to leave. This is because Neha’s landlord voluntarily joined the Ukrainian Army in the fight against Russia. The girl chose to support the landlady in taking care of her three kids. "I may live or not, but I will not leave these children and their mother in such a situation.” Meanwhile, Rishabh Kaushik, a student of third-year engineering at Kharkiv National University had refused to leave the country without his pet. Now the Indian government helped him with all the paperwork and Rishabh left the country with his dog. Meanwhile another Indian student died in Russia due to an illness.
