Russian plane crash: 41 killed on Aeroflot jet
A plane in Russia had to make an emergency landing after some malfunctions were reported. 41 people left dead. Passengers say that flight attendants did a wonderful job in saving people.
41 people have lost their lives after a Russian plane had to make an emergency landing just after takeoff from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport. The plane burst into flames while landing
Russian news says the plane returned to the airport due to technical reasons, however, survivors say the plane was struck by lightning.
From the 41 who died, 2 children and 1 flight attendant were killed.
After take off the crew sent a distress signal when “malfunctions” had occured in bad weather shortly after take-off
The plane was not able to dump its fuel as they were flying above the city and therefore had full fuel tanks when it made an emergency landing.
Rusian news says that this was the reason the plane caught fire.
Some reports also say that the plane was on fire before landing.
Aeroflot the airline said that the crew “did everything to save the passengers”
One passenger told the local newspaper the flight had just taken off and the aircraft was hit by lightning. He also said that the landing was rough.
The Governor of the city Andrey Chibis has reportedly said that the families of those who died would receive $15,300 and those who were in hospital being treated would receive $7,650.
Many people took videos from the plane and from the airport showing the plane on fire.
The passengers thanked the flight attendants saved many lives and did a very good job.
Russina President Vladimir Putin has been briefed and passed on his condolences to the families of the victims.
