Singer Hana Horka Dies After Intentionally Catching COVID-19
Czech folk singer has died after she deliberately contracted Covid to obtain a health pass.
Hana Horka was from Czech Republic. She was 57 and was a singer for the band Asonance. She was unvaccinated and like many anti-vax people, she too did not want to take the vaccine. She purposely got the virus and died a few days later. In the Czech Republic, the number of Covid cases is rising. So the country has decided that to gain access to sports, social and cultural facilities like pubs/clubs/cinema halls etc, you should provide proof of vaccination or you will be allowed to enter if you have recently recovered from Covid-19 infection.
Hana’s husband and son Jan Rek both were vaccinated but still got infected during Christmas. However, Hana stayed in close proximity to them and purposely caught the virus. Hana had written online just two days before her demise that she was infected with a virus but she survived. It was difficult. But now she will be able to go to the theater, sauna, a concert and will quickly go to the beach.
According to her son Rek, "She should have isolated herself for a week because we tested positive. But she was with us the whole time. She decided to continue to live normally with us and preferred to catch the disease than to get vaccinated.” According to her family, on the day she died, Hana felt a pain in her back and went to rest and in about 10 minutes it was all over...she choked to death. Her son Rek said that he knows exactly who influenced her. He was referring to the leaders of a local anti-vax movement who had reportedly convinced her to not get the jabs. He added, “ It makes him sad that she believed strangers more than her proper family. She felt that it was OK and better to get COVID-19 than to get vaccinated.” He highlighted that though talking of Hana makes him emotional. He explained that governments and doctors keep showing us the graphs of people who die and keep telling the importance of vaccines. But if there is a real example then it is more impactful. So that is why he is sharing his story with others so that they get vaccinated.
