Sonali Phogat’s Associates Charged for Her Murder
Sonali Phogat's brother has filed a formal complaint with the Goa Police, claiming two of her associates murdered her.
Sonali Phogat began her career as an anchor in Doordarshan, she later turned out to be a TikTok star, an actress, a big boss contestant and finally turned out as a politician for BJP. Sonali Phogat was born on 21st September, 1979. Her father is a farmer, and she has three sisters and a brother. Phogat, who was 42 years old and a BJP leader from Hisar in Haryana. Phogat had arrived in Goa on 22nd August and was staying in a hotel in Anjuna area. She was accompanied by her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder Wasi,.
On 23rd August Phogat was brought to the St Anthony Hospital after she complained of uneasiness. She died there. The family members of Phogat arrived in Goa on Tuesday night of 23rd August. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the state police were conducting a detailed investigation into the death of Phogat. Sawant said he has been following up the matter with Director General of Police Jaspal Singh.
Now Sonali Phogat's brother Rinku Dhaka has filed a formal complaint with the Goa Police, claiming she was murdered by two of her associates. “She was a BJP leader for the last 15 years. We will also appeal to the prime minister to help us in getting justice for her,” he said. The CM said, considering the opinion of doctors, it looks like she died due to a heart attack.
However, Phogat's brother Rinku Dhaka alleged that a short while before her death, Phogat had spoken to her mother, sister- and brother-in-law during which she sounded disturbed and complained against her two colleagues. He also claimed that the CCTV cameras, laptop and other crucial things from her farmhouse in Haryana have gone missing after her death. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi said there is no foul play in the case. There are no external injury marks on the body, the DGP had said, adding that the postmortem report will reveal the exact cause of the death. Police had earlier registered a case of unnatural death.
However, now the postmortem report has revealed that her body had "multiple blunt force injuries". (Injuries breaking the blood tissue without breaking the skin). Meanwhile, hours after the postmortem report was released on Thursday, 25th August, two of her associates were charged with her murder. The police arrested both of them from Goa late evening. After their arrest, Sonali Phogat's personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder Wasi, who were with her when she arrived in Goa, have been charged with murder.
