South Korea Mask Kosk Viral on Social Media
A South Korean mask has gone viral on social media for its strange design.
A South Korean company called Atman has developed a unique mask that is gaining a lot of attention on social media for its shape and use. The name of the mask is ‘Kosk’. The word ‘Kosk’ is a combination of mask and the Korean word for nose, ‘Ko’. Generally, when people wear masks it becomes difficult to eat or drink anything. However, the Kosk which starts off as a normal mask can be folded. Once folded it covers only the nose and leaves the mouth free for eating, drinking, etc. The mask is available on multiple online platforms and is tagged as a KF80 mask. The company says that the KF80 mask will be able to filter out particles with 80 per cent efficiency. When the images of the mask went viral on social media, it received mixed reactions from people.
People said that Coronavirus infections can still spread through the mouth and covering the nose like that does not seem to be very healthy. Many mocked the mask's weird design. Please remember that such masks are not approved by the government of India or the WHO. Currently, the Indian government has encouraged using N95 masks, KN95 masks, disposable masks and cloth masks. Make sure you wear them properly and follow all covid safety protocols.
