On 20th April Maharashtra government had a meeting. It was discussed that people were going out in the name of buying groceries through the day and crowding market places. This is why the maharashtra ordered tougher measures to fight Covid, saying All groceries, vegetable shops, dairies, bakeries, fruit vendors and all shops selling food (including chicken, mutton, poultry, fish and eggs) will be open only between 7 am and 11am. Home deliveries may be allowed from 7 am to 8 pm, depending on local authorities.  

Karnataka has also imposed strict restrictions in the state. During the week there will be a night curfew from 9pm to 6am and a weekend curfew from Friday 9pm to Monday 6am. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six-day lockdown in the national capital. The lockdown comes into effect from 10 pm on Monday 20th April and will remain enforced until 5 am April 26. Kejriwal said the lockdown was imposed to prevent the health infrastructure from collapsing. Meanwhile something very different is going on in Uttar Pradesh. The Allahabad High Court had ordered a lockdown till 26th April in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur, saying it is the only way to tackle the worsening coronavirus situation. The HC said Affected families are neither finding oxygen beds nor important drugs. HC said the UP government keeps saying no lockdown because economy & business is important. But what use is economy, business & money if people are dying? But Yogi Adityanath’s government did not accept the HC’s decision and filed a complaint in the Supreme Court. The SC court put the Allahabad HC decision on hold. Now there is complete lockdown only on the weekend in UP.
