Suhana Khan aged 20 is the daughter of actor Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. She received rude remarks from social media users about her skin colour and her beauty. Some of the comments said that she was so dark, ugly, they called her a black witch, black cat and many other rude words. On 29th September Suhana shared the screen shots of these comments on her Instagram and added a strongly-worded post. 

An excerpt from her post that read, "There's a lot going on right now. Since I was 12 years old, people say I am very dark and ugly. Adult men and women would tell me this. Like me many boys and girls in India have been called such names. We need to stop doing this. ” Suhana added hashtag #endcolourism in her post. This means we must stop discriminating against people on the basis of their skin color. She said, “We are all Indians. This means we all have skin which is in different shades of brown. When we say brown skin is not good and call people Kaali, we are discriminating against ourselves. We must learn to love everyone for who they are and not for their skin colour. Colour does not determine beauty, your values and personality does. 

She added, “I'm sorry if social media, Indian matchmaking or even your own families have convinced you, that if you're not 5'7 and fair you're not beautiful. No matter what colour you are you are beautiful. I'm 5'3, brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too,"
