23rd September is International Day of Sign Languages. This is the day to raise awareness of the importance of sign language as human rights for people who are Deaf. India’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has started an initiative to celebrate International Day of Sign Languages. It has come up with a Pledge or a promise. People who take this pledge, will promise themselves to promote the use of Indian Sign Language in the environment and education to make life accessible for the deaf and hearing
The last line of the pledge says that the ministry values your participation and wishes you all the best and asks you to keep participating.
