Team India Breach 'Fortress Gabba' First Time in 32 Years

The Indian cricket team achieved a historic win in the 4th Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane.

The Indian cricket team achieved a historic win in the 4th Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane, Australia. In the first innings of the fourth Test Match, Australia were all out at 369 runs. India in its first innings were all out at 336 runs. Australia scored 294 in the second innings. Australia scored a total of 663 in both the innings and were all out. India had secured 336 runs in the first innings. India were chasing a target of 328 runs. India was extremely determined. To achieve their target Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Washington Sundar and Rishabh Pant came out to bat for India. Wickets kept tumbling but Pant remained calm to win the match for his team. India required 328 to win. By scoring 329/7 India won against Australia. India in it's first innings scored 336 and now they have a total of 665/7. India beat Australia by 3 wickets. India won the series 2-1. One month ago in Adelaide, Australia, in the first Test match, India was all out for 36 runs. This was an extremely shameful incident.

In order to prove their mettle, India gave it their all and won the 4th Test. Australia has always won at the Gabba. They haven't lost a single match there. Australia's last defeat at Gabba was by the West Indies in 1988. Since then they have never lost a match. Now after 32 years, they have lost against India in Gabba.

After the win, Twitter and other social media went berserk. Former and current India cricketers joined in to congratulate Team India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too congratulated team India. In Sydney, Australia while Ashwin was batting, the wicketkeeper behind was Australian Captain Tim Paine. Paine started the chatter telling Ashwin he couldn't wait for India to come to the Gabba.

Ashwin though responded with, "I can't wait for you to come to India, that will be your last series". After the win at Gabba, Ashwin's wife Prithi Ashwin was amongst the firsts on Twitter to hilariously mock Paine's words. The BCCI on 19th January announced a Rs 5 crore bonus for the Indian cricket team.
