T’gana Man To Hang For Rape of 9-Month-Old Baby
The Telangana man who raped a 9-month-old baby has been sentenced to death and life imprisonment after a swift decision by the District courts.
On 19th June, a man named P Praveen a local man kidnapped a 9-month-old baby sleeping next to her parents in Warangal, Telangana. When the parents woke up in the middle of the night and found their baby missing. They alerted everyone and searching for the baby, the man was found holding the baby covered in a towel on his shoulder and walking away.
He was immediately caught and arrested. The man raped and killed the baby. This had angered all the people in Telangana. The horrifying case had triggered outrage in the city. A student unions, temple priests and all the locals started protesting and demanded justice for the baby.
His trial in the court began on 24th July 2019 and on 9th August the court announced his decision. The judge has sentenced him to death and life imprisonment under the POCSO Act. Along with this the judge has even asked him to pay a fine of Rs 20,000. In just two weeks days the court declared the decision. This was the fastest decision ever. After investigating, they found that he had committed sexual crimes before and was a paedophile but the police never received any complaint about him.
