Unique Ganpati Idols in India 2023
India's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations showcase extravagant decorations, from coin displays to towering idols. Watch our video to find out.
1) Sri Sathya Ganapathy Temple in Bengaluru's JP Nagar has decorated its entire premises with coins worth Rs 65 lakh and currency notes worth crores of rupees ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
2) First Look of Mumbai’s Richest' Bappa From GSB Seva Mandal With 69 Kg Gold, 336 Kg Silver. The idol is located at the Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) Seva Mandal in Matunga, Mumbai and is said to be worth over Rs 300 crore.
3) A 42 ft idol of Ganesh made with peepal leaves was placed in Tamil Nadu's Kolathur area. This is designed with 30 thousand Kubera Vilakku (lamp).
4) Sand artist Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik sculpts a beautiful sand art of Lord Ganesha by installing 100 kgs of steel and around 1000 pieces of steel bowls at Puri sea beach in Odisha on the occasion of GaneshChaturthi
5) Two of the tallest Ganesh idols in the country - at 117 feet and 112 feet - have been set up in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The 117-feet tall Sri Ananta Panchamukha Maha Ganapati idol has been set up at Lanka grounds, while the 112 feet idol has been installed by Mahaganapati Yuvajana Sangham in BHPV area. The pandal organizers said they were inspired by the famous Khairatabad Ganesh idol in Hyderabad, which was first installed 69 years ago. It was the tallest idol in the Telugu states (AP and TS) till a few years ago when the organizers decided to limit the size to 63 feet for logistics reasons.
