UP: Locals Loot Milk from Tanker While Driver Dies after Accident

Locals in Ghaziabad looted milk from an accident scene instead of helping a critically injured victim.

In a shocking incident in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 6th August 2024, locals chose to steal milk rather than save a man’s life after a terrible accident.

The accident happened around 3:00 am on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Vijay Nagar when a speeding truck hit a milk tanker from behind. The impact was so severe that the truck’s driver, 55-year-old Prem Sagar, died on the spot, while his helper, 30-year-old Deenu, was left critically injured.

The driver of the milk tanker fled the scene immediately after the crash. The collision also damaged the rear of the milk tanker, causing it to leak a large amount of milk.

When locals arrived at the accident scene, they saw that Prem Sagar had died and that Deenu was gravely injured. While some did inform the police, no one stepped forward to help Deenu or take him to the hospital.

Instead, the locals focused on collecting the leaking milk. They brought utensils, bottles, and plastic containers to gather as much of the "free" milk as they could, ignoring Deenu’s critical condition.

A video of the scene has gone viral on social media, showing people collecting milk while the wrecked truck remains in the background—a stark reminder of how humanity and empathy can sometimes stoop to a new low.

The Ghaziabad Police quickly arrived at the scene, confirmed Prem Sagar’s death, and rushed Deenu to Manipal Hospital for treatment.

This incident raises serious questions about morality and the value of human life. Is it right to take advantage of someone’s misfortune? What the locals did has left many shocked and saddened.
