USA Woman Earns Rs 227 Crore by Selling Chai
An American woman has earnt millions of dollars by selling the famous Indian chai.
Just like the Germany love beer, the Scottish love whiskey, the Jamaicans go crazy over rum and the Russians have Vodka, India has it’s very own ‘chai‘. Making difficult decisions, solving complicated problems, working on difficult work assignments, everything can be smoothly done over a cup of tea.
For hundreds of years, Indians have been very proud of their chai and our hospitality is never complete without it. However, it seems that our speciality has now started inspiring people all over the world.
Brook Eddy, an American woman came to India and visited villages in India. That time she drank chai and fell in love with it. She loved the smell of chai she turned her liking into a venture. After going back to Colorado in the USA she formed a company and named it ‘Bhakti Chai’. It became very successful in 2018 with a revenue of $7 million.She realized that her recipe of fresh spicy, fresh ginger chai, could be produced for cafés and retailers.
Till now she has had a total profit of $35 million ( INR 2,27,41,25,000 approximately) She now has 26 employees with her. All her ingredients are shipped from outside the U.S and buys 300,000 pounds of ginger from Peru.She has donated $500,000 to various Indian organisations.
