Bollywood Couple Katrina Kaif & Vicky Kaushal who got married in December 2021 gained a lot of media attention since then. However now, a struggling actor has been arrested for allegedly giving death threats to actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal through social media, the Mumbai police have said. A case has been registered by actor Vicky Kaushal at Mumbai's Santacruz police station. The struggling actor is identified as Manvinder Singh and is from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, and was struggling to get work in films and TV series in Mumbai. According to sources, The accused is a huge fan of Katrina Kaif. According to the police, the actors were getting threats on Instagram and the accused was also stalking Katrina Kaif and threatening her. Based on the complaint, the Santacruz police here have registered an FIR against the man under Indian Penal Code Sections 506-II (criminal intimidation) and 354-D (stalking), the official report said. And the Mumbai-based struggling actor Manvinder Singh has been arrested. The actors claimed that the harassment and threatening had been going on for a few days after which he decided to approach the police and lodge a legal complaint, said an officer from Santacruz police station.

Prior to Vicky and Katrina, in June, actor Swara Bhasker received a death threat through a letter. The letter was sent to the actor's residence located in Versova. After receiving the letter, Swara approached Versova police station and lodged a complaint against unidentified persons. In a similar incident, in November 2021, actor Kangana Ranaut filed a complaint at a police station in Himachal Pradesh against the people who allegedly gave her death threats over her post on farm law protestors.
