Vivo Exits IPL 2020 Sponsorship
After the exit of Vivo as the title sponsor of IPL, Patanjali Ayurved is eyeing the lucrative opportunity.
BCCI had sent the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) a letter of intent to shift the IPL and confirmed the dates for this year's tournament. Vivo India was the Title Sponsor for the IPL and have a Rs 440 crore per year deal for five seasons. On Thursday 6th Aug, BCCI released a short statement saying that IPL and its title sponsor Vivo India have decided to part ways for the 2020 IPL but of the India-China problems. But the BCCI hinted that it may return as sponsors next year. But for this year the BCCI is looking at other companies for the Title Sponsor. Last date for bids is 14th August and the sponsors will be announced on 18th August.
E-commerce giant Amazon, Learning app Byju's; Fantasy sports platform Dream 11 are already IPL's official partners. Seeing that the IPL this year will be held during the festival season between Dussehra (October) and Diwali (November) many other companies are interested in becoming sponsors. Now Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved is "considering" making a bid for the title sponsorship of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), according to a company official. Patanjali has a yearly turnover of Rs 10,500 crore.
