Winter Storm Kills 57 in America & Chilling Winters Affects India
Extreme winters are causing a havoc of problems around the world, including the northern regions of India, with bone chilling low temperatures and fog.
Who doesn't like winters full of snowy backyards, but apart from having such an aesthetic in winters like from some Hollywood films, it can result in numerous life-threatening and disastrous conditions which are not at all suitable for human survival. America is known for its bone chilling winters, meanwhile now, a deadly winter storm in America has killed at least 57 people as per official reports released on Monday, 26th of December.
The storm stretched its legs from Canada to the Mexican border, resulting in the death of around 57 people. The deaths were recorded in 12 states: Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wisconsin. The reports further mentioned that many died from heart problems while inhaling snowy winds. A few of them were found dead in their cars. As per the weather department, America has never witnessed any such storm over the last 70 years.

Cold conditions intensified in Kashmir as the minimum temperature dipped several degrees below zero and many places experienced the season's coldest night on Sunday, 25th of December.The minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at minus 5.8 degrees Celsius. The intense cold conditions led to the freezing of water supply lines in many areas of Kashmir as well as the freezing of the interior of the Dal Lake. Also, Pahalgam, which serves as one of the base camps for the Amarnath Yatra, recorded a low of minus 7 degrees Celsius Delhi on Sunday, 25th December recorded a minimum temperature of 5.3 degrees celsius while most parts of northern India today witnessed temperatures in a range between 3 to 7 degrees Celsius, said India Meteorological Department on Monday, 26th of December.
Severe cold reported at most places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan & Uttar Pradesh. In the last few days, several trains have been delayed, and some got cancelled owing to a thick layer of fog across North India. flights were also delayed amid foggy conditions and poor visibility.
