World’s Dirtiest Man Dies After Taking His First Shower
A man who was known as the "dirtiest man in the world" for not bathing over the last 60 years has died at the age of 94 after taking his first shower.
An Iran man named Amou Haji who lived in the village of Dejgah was known as the "dirtiest man in the world". This is because he did not not shower for over the last 60 years! Yes he did not shower for 60 years!
He died at the age of 94 on the 23rd of October 2022. So why did he not shower for 60 years? Haji had avoided showering over fears of "getting sick". Haji lived in isolation for most of his life in an open brick hut, which villagers made after he started sleeping in a hole in the ground. Haji ate roadkill, smoked a pipe filled with animal excrement, and believed that cleanliness would make him ill. Some pictures on social media also show him smoking multiple cigarettes at once. The reason behind his behavior is said to be some emotional trauma which he went through during his early life. A short documentary film titled "The Strange Life of Amou Haji" was made about his life in 2013. But just a few months back, the villagers forcefully took him to the bathroom and made him shower after approximately 60 years. Ironically, he died just a few months after he took his first shower.
