After a person dies he/she is either cremated or buried according to the religious background they come from. Every city and town have places where last rituals are performed after someone is dead, but do you know about the world’s largest cemetery which is a home to more than 80 lakh dead bodies?

The world's largest Cemetery “Wadi Al-Salam Cemetery '' is located in the city of Najaf in Iraq, and more than 80 Lakh dead bodies have been buried at this place so far and almost 200 dead bodies are buried daily.

It includes the graves of millions of Muslims and dozens of scientists,engineers, and army personnel, As well as the remains of the prince, princess and kings. The area of the cemetery is near about 1700 Acres. The Wadi al-Salam cemetery, has a special place in the hearts of Muslims around the world because it is a grave site of several important personalities in the muslim community. The prominence of this graveyard is so high that it has now turned into a place of tourist attraction, where thousands of tourists visit every year just to see the graves. The place is so huge that the ends of which cannot be seen.

Now the fact might surprise you but this graveyard now is facing shortage of land, and getting 25 Sq meter land is as expensive as owning a small car in India. After 2014 because of the daily increase from 80-120 bodies a day to 180-200 bodies, the rates of the land have also been drastically increased. A 25 Sq meter of land here now costs around  4100 Dollars which is near about 3.5 Lakh Indian Rupees.
