Zomato Delivery Boy Infected with COVID-19
A 19-year-old Zomato food delivery agent has tested positive for coronavirus in Delhi.
A 19-year-old Zomato food delivery agent has tested positive for coronavirus in Delhi. The boy was working for a restaurant in south Delhi and was delivering food till last Sunday. He has now tested positive and has been admitted to the hospital. In the last 15 days that he worked, he delivered food to 75 families in areas like Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar and Savitri Nagar. These 75 families have been put under quarantine. The families are being treated by healthcare authorities.
Seventeen delivery boys also came in contact with the boy and have been quarantined in Chattarpur. The restaurant where the rider worked has shut the branch for 14 days.Officials say , the delivery boy doesn't have any travel history and they suspect he may have caught the virus while delivering food to an infected family. The Indian government has allowed delivery services because it is important during the lockdown when it is difficult for people to go out. Lakhs of people in India are dependent on such delivery services.
